The Ravenna 17 door system uses bottom support brackets (referred to as "grey supports") that seat onto the upstand (raised side wall) of the shower tray to anchor the door base. The upstand must be a minimum of 65mm in height to provide sufficient support bracket contact area. UK shower trays are manufactured with upstands typically ranging from 50mm (low-profile trays) to 90mm (standard trays). If your shower tray upstand is below 65mm, the Ravenna 17 cannot be installed without a riser kit or tray replacement. Measure your shower tray upstand height before ordering.

The Ravenna 17 is available in five widths. The door width should match your shower opening width — not the total enclosure width. Measure between the two walls of your shower recess at the door position.

Measure the clear width between finished wall surfaces (or wall tile faces) at the door position
Measure at three heights — floor, mid-height, and top — walls are rarely perfectly plumb; use the smallest measurement
The door width should be within ±5mm of your opening width for correct seal contact
Allow for any tray upstand profile that may reduce the effective opening width

Swing clearance comparison: A 1000mm sliding shower door requires zero swing clearance — it travels parallel to the wall. An equivalent 1000mm hinged door would require approximately 800–1000mm of free floor space in front of the shower entry for the door arc. In a typical UK bathroom, this difference often determines whether the toilet, vanity unit, or radiator can coexist comfortably with the shower.

Shower Tray Upstand Compatibility — Critical Pre-Purchase Check

Before ordering the Ravenna 17, confirm your shower tray upstand height. The door's bottom support brackets require a minimum 65mm upstand to anchor correctly. Installing onto a tray with insufficient upstand height will result in an unstable door that cannot seal or function safely.

What is a shower tray upstand?

The upstand is the raised side wall of the shower tray, it is the vertical edge that the shower door or screen seals against. Upstand height is measured from the top surface of the tray base to the top edge of the raised side wall.

Our Nano Coated Glassware range is fully hand finished; due to this process the finished items can occasionally have slight imperfections within the finished product which can appear as a mark or bubble. This is nothing to worry about but we are on hand to help, if the issue can be viewed from 2m in natural lighting then we are more than happy to discuss the options to best suit your needs.

Avoid placing shower heads in such a way that water hits vulnerable areas, like the seams between the glass or hinged side of the door. Water rushing against these parts causes wet floor and leakage.

Can this shower door be used in a walk-in or wetroom configuration?

No. The Ravenna 17 requires a shower tray with a minimum 65mm upstand for the bottom support brackets. It is not suitable for wetroom or walk-in configurations where no tray is used. For walk-in wetroom installations, a fixed walk-in shower screen (such as the Durovin BR7003 MS) is the appropriate product.

• Return shipping is paid by the buyer: Small/Medium £10 per item; Large £40 per item. • Refusing delivery or being unavailable for a large-item delivery may incur a £40 return fee. • Original delivery fees are non-refundable.
